Vernon Carey, of Kaufman, passed away April 22, 2019 at his home. He was born July 19, 1941 in Colorado City, Texas to the late Tom Sr. and Katherine Smith Carey. He graduated Colorado City High School. Vernon was a master plumber and owned and operated his business, Carey Sales and Service in Tyler for 14 years. Vernon had a great talent of knowing how to complete each job in the quickest and most economical way he could. His reputation as a highly professional and sought-after plumbing contractor was well known among his colleagues and customers. Vernon also loved to fish, hunt and spend time with friends and family. He Married Judith Ann Houston on October 13, 1990 in Texarkana, Ark. and together they made many lasting memories that will be cherished always.

Vernon is survived by his loving wife Judith Carey, of Kaufman; children: Jeff Carey and wife Pam, Annette Chaney and husband Bobby, Todd Carey, Liz Wheeler and husband Mike; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sisters: Johnitta Gaines and husband Bill, Leigh Roesicke and husband Bill; brother, Tom Carey Jr. as well as several other extended family members and a host of friends.

A celebration of Vernon’s life will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 27, 2019, at the home of David and Melissa Lowe, 7569 CR 109A Kaufman, Tx.
