She married widower Eugene Mahoney Dec 4, 1897 in Lubec. He was 33 and she was 20, her first marriage. He was the son of Sea Captain Alfred (James Alfred) Mahoney of Belfast and Lubec and Mariah Marston.
Susie and Eugene had a son Max born Aug 19, 1898 in Lubec. Eugene died at age 46 in 1913 in the vicinity of Bar Harbor Maine, after which Susan lived in Cambridge Massachusetts for 20 years before returning to Lubec around 1938. Her son Max who had resided in Cambridge and also returned to Maine with his mother and resided with her there in South Lubec where he died July 17, 1973. Susan was predeceased by step-son Paul L. Mahoney in 1973 and survived by step-daughter Nora ( Mahoney) Hanson of Hanover, Massachusetts.
Susie entered a nursing home in 1965 and died there at age 101 yrs of age. She was buried in Lamson Cemetery in Lubec with her husband and son.
