Services for Rebecca F. Barr, 90, of 3896 N. Royal Center Pike, Royal Center, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Fisher Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Barr died at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998, in Chase Center. Born Jan. 5, 1908, in Noble Township, Cass County, she was the daughter of Charles Christian and Carrie Brandt Roller. On Aug. 9, 1933, in Cass County, she was married to Nelson Maurice Barr, who died Jan. 25, 1994. Mrs. Barr was the youngest of nine children. She graduated from Ball State Teachers College. A retired school teacher, she taught for 37 years at Noble Township and Royal Center elementary schools. She was a member of Webb Chapel United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and, in her earlier years, was active in several committees including the Women's Society of Christian Services. Mrs. Barr also was a member of the Noble Township Extension Homemakers Club and the Cass County Retired Teachers Association.

Surviving are two sons, Paul Barr and his wife, Carol, Kokomo, and Gene Barr and his wife, Judy, Royal Center; one daughter, Norma Beymer and her husband, Lawrence, Terre Haute; four grandsons, Kevin Beymer, Los Angeles, Michael Barr, Virginia, and Chad Barr and his wife, April, and Shannon Barr, all of Royal Center; five granddaughters, Karin Beymer, Indianapolis, Krista Beymer and Kathy Beymer, both of Chicago, Lori Zehner and her husband, John, Virginia, and Joni Barr, Kokomo; and one great-grandchild, Kayla Zehner, Virginia, Two brothers and six sisters preceded in death.

The Rev. Tim McKaig will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Webb Chapel United Methodist Church and a favorite charity.
