In October 1940, William Verdun Boucock completed his World War II Draft Registration card. His residence was Roseburg, Douglas County, Oregon, and he was born on Oct. 26, 1916 in Calgary, Canada. His next of kin and employer was his father, Harold Leavitt Boucock. He was 6'1" tall, weighed 150 lbs, had a light complexion, hazel eyes and black hair.

On May 28, 1941, William Boucock, 24, a butcher from Roseburg, Oregon, arrived in Honolulu, Hawaii on the S.S. Matsonia, having sailed from San Francisco on May 23. He was enroute to Midway Island as a civilian contractor for the US Navy, working for the Morrison-Knudsen Civil Engineering Company as part of the Contractors Pacific Naval Air Bases (CPNAB) program.

A year later, early on the morning of June 4, 1942, the Japanese attacked Midway Island, but Boucock was no longer working there.

William V. Boucock married Elvira Wofford (b. Nov. 24, 1921; d. Oct. 13, 1993) on April 26, 1942 in Roseburg, and enlisted in the US Army on July 9, 1942, in Portland, Oregon. He served in the Army for 3 years, and held the rank of Staff Sergeant in Oct 1945.

Elvira's mother was Anna H Wofford, and she also had a brother, Franklin S Wofford.

William and Elvira had a son, Jerry Alan Boucock.
