Bryson City - Rosalie Taylor Jenkins, 61, of the Jackson Line community, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 9, 2007, at her residence, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of Cleo Mashburn Taylor, of Bryson City, and the late Raleigh Taylor. She was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Loretta Taylor; and two brothers, Roy and Stanley Taylor.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 43 years, Buddy Jenkins; son, Michael James Jenkins, of Bryson City; daughter, Sheena Darlene Jenkins, of Bryson City; two grandchildren, Steven Archer and Brent Ballew; four sisters, Omer Freeman, of Murphy, Leona Bundy, of High Point, Marcella Bryant, of Archdale, and Bonnie Marion, of Asheboro; five brothers, Winston Taylor, of Pleasant Gardens, Walter Taylor, of Bryson City, Lincoln Taylor, of Thomasville, Avery Taylor, of Bryson City, and V.C. Taylor, of Nantahala.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. The Rev. Eddie Stillwell will officiate, with burial in Swain Memorial Park.
