Sister Andrea Broutin was one of 12 children born to Andre Joseph Broutin and Helena De Munter. Andrea entered the Congregation in June 1949 and was received as a novice in December 1949 and was given the religious name Sister Joseph Helen. In 1957, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Siena Heights College , majoring in history; in 1966, her master’s degree in history from De Paul University. In 1990, she attended Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit to earn her certificate in pastoral ministry.
In 2010, Sister Andrea returned to Adrian to live at the Dominican Life Center.
