Jimmy Ray McCarter (Jim), age 66 of Sevierville, passed away Monday, April 1, 2019.

He was employed by Dan River (formerly known as Cherokee) for over 30 years, and the Sevier County Board of Education for 10 years. Jim was highly devoted to his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Conard Lee McCarter; father-in-law, Carl Henry; sister-in-law, Debbie Cook.

Jim is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janice Henry McCarter; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Scott Tinker; mother, Freda McCarter; grandchildren, Carly Newman, Camryn Newman, Kyndal Tinker, and Jared Tinker; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Beth McCarter; mother-in-law, Myrtle Henry; brother-in-law, Dwight Henry; sisters-in-law, Karen (Tommy) Cotter, Brenda (David) Wilson; many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends; beloved pet, Ozzie.

The procession will leave Atchley Funeral Home at 10:30AM Saturday for a graveside service and interment at Middle Creek Cemetery with Rev. Mike Beck and Rev. Steve Brewer officiating.
