Betty Jo Hurst Gladman Davison, 86, passed away on March 24, 2019.t

She was a graduate of East High School and the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University.

She had a long career at the Akron Health Department where she was Supervisor of Nursing and Child Health Programs, Director of Summit County Head Start and the WIC Program.

She was a faithful and devoted member of the Arlington Church of God.

She was much loved and will be sorely missed.

She was preceded in death by parents, John Hurst Sr. and Amey Epps Hurst; husband, John (Johnnie) Davison; stepfather, William (Bill) Suddeth Sr.; brother, John Hurst Jr.; step brother, William Suddeth II; uncle, Joseph D. Epps Sr.; nephew, Gregory Hurst; and cousin, Joseph D. Epps Jr.

Betty Jo will be forever live in the hearts of loving sister, Suzette Sharif; step sister, Nina Bandy, Cleveland, Ohio; nieces, Karen Wilson, Stevenson, Mississippi; Khaliah Amey Sharif, Virginia; nephews, Travis Johnson and Amir Sharif, Akron, Ohio; and many precious great nieces, nephews and cousins; childhood friend, Norma Spencer and multitudes of other treasured friends.

Friends may call on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. (noon) at Arlington Church of God, 539 S. Arlington St., Akron, OH 44306. Funeral service will immediately follow. Pastor Laureate Ronald J. Fowler, eulogizing. Interment Mount Peace Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to Sommerville Funeral Services, 1695 Diagonal Rd., Akron, OH 44320.
