Joel Keith McCracken, 62, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals surrounded by his family. He is finally at peace and with his boys, Teddy and Aaron.

A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was a son of Phyllis King of Clyde and the late Joe V. McCracken. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Teddy Wells; grandson, Aaron Wells; two brothers, Gregory and Todd McCracken; and grandparents, Gene and Pauline Robinson and Roy and Lucy McCracken. Keith will be remembered for his amazing kindness and one who loved his children and grandchildren. They were the light of his life. He retired in 2007 from Champion International with 32 years of service. Keith enjoyed retirement by relaxing, watching football, baseball, and spending time with his family. Keith was a former member of the Waynesville Masonic Lodge #296 AF & AM.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Keisha McCracken, (Tom), of Clyde and Dee Wells, (Shaun), of Bethel; one son, Shane Wells, (Kyla), of Clyde; one brother, Eric McCracken of Clyde; and two granddaughters, Adelena and Avery.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2018 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend David H. Vos officiating.
