Zorphia E. Knicely Simmers, 83, formerly of Rockingham County, passed away at Avante of Harrisonburg March 2, 2005. She was born June 2, 1921, to the late Michael Harve and Carrie Bowman Knicely of Hinton.
On November 8, 1937, Zorpha married George W. Simmers, who preceded her in death, August 2, 1971. She and George had ten children, they are as follows, Charles Eugene, Richard Everett, Ronald Wayne, Roger Lee, Carolyn S. Dickenson, Linda S. Allman , John Donald, Patricia S. McDaniel, Shelby and Shelva Jean Simmers.
Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her four siblings; Luther W. Knicely, Aubrey R. Knicely, Villia Lavine Knicely and Anna Lee K. McAbee.
