Phil Floden, 43, of Story City, of Story City died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound Tuesday at home. The death was ruled a suicide. The body was cremated, and memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater, of which he was a member. Burial of the cremains will be at Palestine Cemetery in Huxley.
Mr. Floden was born in Des Moines an had lived in Slater before moving to the Story City area in 1984. He was the oner and operator of his own cleaning business and also was a former production worker with 3M in Ames. He enjoyed animals and growing miniature roses.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki; a step-daughter, Stephanie Siska of Slater.
