STRATFORD - (Special) - Funeral arrangements are pending here for Howard Gibbons, 59, who apparently died Monday afternoon following a heart attack while trying to work his truck out of a mud hole.

Gibbons, a resident of Sherman County for the past 44 years, was found dead about 4 p.m. yesterday on a country road about four miles west of Stratford. Mrs. Le Ellen Bonar, who lives near Stratford, found the stricken man as she passed his truck.

He is survived by three sisters; Mrs. Hazel Diehl, Stratford; Mrs. Bill Lollis and Mrs. Ernest Kelp, both of Truth or Consequences, N.M.; two brothers, Tom Gibbons of Stratford and J.H. Gibbons of Clearwater, Calif.

Rites will be announced later by the Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Stratford.
