"Bertha G Boyle, 90, formerly of 651 W Spring St, died at 1:20 pm Wednesday, Dec 15, 1999, in Beverly Healthcare-Titusville, where she had lived since July 13. Mrs Boyle was born Jan 23, 1909, at Titusville, to the late George E and Essie Reese Stone. She married Morgan P Boyle on July 7, 1935, at Westfield, NY. He died Nov 20, 1962. Mrs Boyle attended Titusville High School. She was employed at the Wadsworth grocery store on West Spring Street for 10 years as a clerk. She then opened her own grocery store at 653 W Spring St, which she operated for eight years. She was last employed at Dad's grocery store at West Spring and West Walnut streets for 22 years, retiring in 1977. Mrs Boyle was a member of Titusville Wesleyan Methodist Church. Surviving are: two sons and their wives, Jack and Martha Boyle of Ponta Vedra Bay, Fla, and Robert and Naomi Boyle of Mageetown Road, Centerville; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Lillian Boyle of Conneaut Lake; two brothers, Harold V Stone of Ashtabula, Ohio, and Wayne A Stone of Mesa, Ariz; and many nieces and nephews. A grandson, Derrick L Boyle, died Nov 19, 1989. Three brothers, Edward Stone, Harry Stone and Earl Stone; and two sisters, Dorotha White and Ruth Stone, also died previously. Friends may call...at [the] Gordon B Garrett Funeral Home and attend the funeral there at 2 pm Friday with Rev Robert Pelton, pastor of Titusville Wesleyan Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery."
