Mr. Hunter was born on January 20, 1921 to the late Herman Allen Hunter Sr. and Mary Quate Hunter. A lifelong resident of Guilford County,
Mr. Hunter was retired after 37 1/2 years with the maintenance department of the Greensboro City Schools. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of N.C. Maintenance Assn., Local No. 756 of the Painter's Union and attended Starmount Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Hunter is survived by his wife of 48 years, Frances Phillips Hunter of the home; brother, Howard Hill Hunter of Greensboro and several nieces and nephews.
