Myrtle G. Chason Pittman Myrtle Geraldine Chason Pittman, 76, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006. The service will be at 11 a.m. EST Friday at Bevis Funeral Home in Tallahassee (850-385-2193), with burial at Oakland Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. EST Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308. She was the widow of Thomas M. Pittman. They were married for 51 years. They were the proud owners and operators of Pittman Upholstery, Tallahassee's oldest upholstery shop, for many years. She was the mother of three children, Samuel T. Pittman (and Margaret), Joe M. Pittman (and Carrie), both of Tallahassee, and Roxanne E. Taylor (and David) of Monticello. She was grandmother of Amy L. Ellinor-Koch, Tammy A. Eastman, Bubba Ellinor, Sandra L. Moss, Mary M. Ouzts, Sam T. Pittman Jr., Abby T. Pittman, and Braiden T. Pittman of Tallahassee. She was the great-grandmother of Tara L. Ellinor, Haley B. Ellinor, Trey Koch, Thomas L. Pittman, Austin M. Ellinor, Karragin N. Koch, Hunter D. Eastman, Wesley J. Ellinor, Tyler L. Moss, Maggie D. Moss, and Andrew B. Ouzts. She was lovingly known as "big granny" and "cat granny" because of her love of cats. She leaves behind a brother, Robert E. Chason. The family would like to thank the staff of Big Bend Hospice for all of their love and kindness. They showed her the last few days of her life.
