Alamo - David (RONNIE AL) 75 went to be with the Lord on January 17, 2019, after a lengthy illness. He was born on September 1, 1943 in Del Rio, TX.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Eloisa Sosa, father-in-law, Amancio T. Garza, Sr., mother-in-law, Alicia L. Garza, brother-in-law, Horacio Garza, Sr. and a nephew Sgt Eric E. Farias.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Estela Alcantar, his sons: David Nelson (Jessica Lynn) from New Braunfels, TX and Arthur from San Antonio, TX, his father Isidro and sister Anita Sosa. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Harper, Arty, Taylor, Atreyu and Ayden.

Ronnie was a proud US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of UTPA and the Reynaldo Garza School of Law. He also graduated from Theology school and was an Associate Pastor at Anchor Bible Baptist Church in Pharr, TX. Ronnie was a member of the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame. He was a board member for the Rio Grande Valley Chapter of Texas Association of Sports Officials. Ronnie always expressed his love for music and was a performing musician dating back to the 1960s.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Monday, January 21, 2019, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Anchor Bible Baptist Church, 806 S. Veterans Blvd. in Pharr. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 Inspiration Rd. in Mission.

Having the distinguished honor of serving as pallbearers will be his childhood friend: Virgilo Garcia Jr., Brothers-In-Law: Amancio Garza Jr., Antolin Garza, Humberto Garza and Edmundo Farias Jr., Nephew: Horacio Garza, Jr.

Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 8788 of McAllen.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
