Susan Lynn Allen, age 55, of Jasper, Florida passed away at Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, Florida following a brief illness. Sue was born in Frankfurt, Germany in an Army hospital on August 2, 1963 to David and Helga Lynn. She attended school in Ohio before moving to Live Oak, Florida where she graduated from Suwannee High School. It was in Live Oak that she was to meet her husband of 35 years, Dempsey Allen. The two supported each other in getting “job ready”. Sue worked to put Dempsey through welding school and he then worked while she completed her nursing degree as a Registered Nurse. She was always a hard worker and dedicated employee and was loved by her residents and co-workers. She worked as Director of Nursing at Suwannee Valley Nursing Center in Jasper, Florida for over twenty years before leaving and moving over to home health where she was Manager of Clinical Practice for Kindred Home Health in the Madison/Tallahassee area. Sue had recently returned to college and had completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Healthcare Administration. She was dedicated to her calling as a mother and lived for her “Nina” moments which were those special hours she got to spend with her four grandchildren. Sue was a dedicated member of Burnham Church where she was involved with the children’s programs, youth ministries, adult choir and was an enthusiastic soloist. God blessed Sue with the “Gift of Gab” and she will always be remembered for her mile-a-minute whimsical stories. She was quite animated and a joy to be around and her smile was infectious. Sue was preceded in death by her father, David Lynn.
She is survived by her husband, Dempsey; her son and daughter-in-law, Bryant and Robyn Allen of Jennings, Florida.; her daughter and son-in-law, Kaitlin and Andres Morgan of San Antonio, Texas; her mother, Helga Miller of Belprie, Ohio; two sisters, Debbie Lynn McIntosh and Stefanie Lynn Godfrey also of Ohio; a brother, Tom Lynn; her four beautiful grandchildren, Alexia Morgan, Gaige Allen, Andres Morgan, II and Levi Allen. Also grieving her loss deeply is her mother-in-law, Shirley Allen; brother-in-law, Randy Allen and sisters-in-law, Nita Cruce and Juana Williams. Sue could never be classified as just an aunt, she was a mentor, friend and confidant to her many nieces and nephews that loved her to the moon and back.
