Ruben Graff Edmonds, 81, of Crates, PA, died Thursday, December 6, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born July 13, 1937, in New Bethlehem, PA, he was the son of the late John L. and Rachel V. (Hollobaugh) Edmonds.

Ruben attended school in New Bethlehem. He was a Private First Class in the US Army artillery, until his discharge in 1958. He married the former Twila B. Hepler on September 11, 1960, in Cottage Hill, PA; she survives in Crates, PA.

Ruben was a welder for C&K Coal Company until his retirement in 1985. He attended the Cottage Hill Wesleyan Methodist Church in New Bethlehem, PA.
Ruben enjoyed camping and hunting, fishing, small engine repair, and most of all time with his loving family.

Along with his wife, Ruben is survived by two sons, John R. Edmonds and his wife Valerie of Coolspring, PA, and James M. Edmonds and his wife Melissa of Corsica, PA; four daughters, Shelley A. Geist and her husband Ronald of Mayport, PA, Carla S. McAfoos and her husband James of Mayport, PA, Karen D. Harris and her husband Tim of Hazen, PA, and Linda K. Shoemaker and her husband Jerry of Deanville, PA; a brother William (Boot) Edmonds of New Bethlehem, PA; and a sister Edna Yount of Hawthorn, PA.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Ronald A. Geist, Tonya L. Mangan, Heather S. McAfoos, Dylan L. Baughman, Rachel F. Shoemaker, Drake J. Edmonds, Landon G. Edmonds, and Griffin J. Edmonds; and five great-grandchildren, Olivia G. Mangan, Lennon A. Geist, Luca S. Geist, Haydon M. Giles and Kaedy A. Giles.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Minich, Richard Hollobaugh, and Harry Edmonds; and one sister, Dorothy Ferguson.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 9, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad Street, Summerville, PA. A second visitation will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Cottage Hill Wesleyan Methodist Church, 68 Champion Road, New Bethlehem, PA. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Daniel Clyde officiating.

Interment will follow at Cedarview Cemetery, Garden of the Good Sheppard, Strattanville, Clarion County.
