Lois (Wofford) Brooks (1929-2018)

Mrs. Lois Brooks (nee Wofford), of Lorain Ohio, died peacefully in the Cleveland Clinic on November 9, 2018 Cleveland, Ohio at the age of 89.
Lois was born on September 23, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA to George and Ramah Wofford. She married Wayne Brooks, who relentlessly pursued her because "he loved her smile" in 1949.
While Wayne served as a Sergeant in the US Army, they moved to Los Angeles where he was stationed, Lois worked worked as a Librarian's Assistant. In over fifteen years the couple welcomed six children into their home and Lois set about teaching their five girls the lessons to be successful ladies, and Wayne took their son under his wing and taught him all he knew as a contractor, a hunter and fisherman. Her children remember her as a loving, kind, gentle and patient mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Lois became convinced through in dept study of the Bible and meditating on the scriptures that Jehovah is the true Good. She dedicated her life to him in 1972. Her heart was full of love for mankind and she was a passionate active preacher of the Good News of God's Kingdom and helped many come to know Jehovah by studying the bible with them. She knew that Jehovah would use his kingdom government to restore the earth to a paradise and resurrect those who had fallen asleep in death.
Lois is survived by her children, Chloe Velasquez of Pittsburgh, PA, Olivia and Paul Scrivanich of Newport, OR., Cynthia Brooks of Lorain, Elizabeth Brooks-Willis of Louisville, KY, Kenneth and Terry Brooks of Lorain, Georgia Alberta and Dale Curry of Lorain; her sister, Chloe Morrison of Pittsburgh, PA.; Grandchildren, Eric Love, Sage Velasquez, Devin Brooks, Kenneth Brooks and Anissa Brooks-Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Brooks; parents, George and Ramah Wofford; siblings, Robert Wofford, George Wofford and Raymond Wofford.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, 600-8:00 pm at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 1652 Broadway Ave., Lorain, Ohio 44052. The memorial service will be Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018 at 1:00 pm at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 2340 Crehore Street, Lorain, 44052. Congregation Elder and close friend Vernon Wallace will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lois's life.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Keba Smith, Devin Brooks, and Crystal Clark and the hosital staff for the love, care and dedication given to our beloved Lois.
