Born October 30, 1938 in Cabarrus County, NC, he was the son of the late Jason George Aldridge and Ruby Adlaid Scarboro Aldridge. He was a retired Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy and also retired as a correctional officer from the State of NC Prison System. Joe was a 1956 graduate of Norwood High School. He was a member of Cottonville Baptist Church and was very active with the Stanly County DAV and its ritual team. He was also a member of Pee Dee Lodge 150 A. F. and A. M. Joe loved deep-sea fishing and enjoyed reunions with his military friends. He also loved his family and his grandchildren.
Mr. Aldridge is survived by his wife, Esther H. Aldridge, of the home; 2 sons, Joe Aldridge, Jr. (Lorie) of Norwood and Gary Jason Aldridge of Norwood; a brother Donald Aldridge; 5 grandchildren, Adam Aldridge, Alan Aldridge, Daniel Simpson, Jason Aldridge, and Jacob Aldridge; and 2 great-grandchildren, Sophie Aldridge and Gracyn Aldridge. A brother, Bobby Aldridge, preceded him in death.
