Kevin B. Knott, 56, of Somerset, formerly of Ringtown, passed peacefully on November 7, 2018 at home after a long battle with cancer. Born May 7, 1962 in Ashland, PA, he is a son of the late Alfred Jr. and Edith (Thompson) Knott. He is also preceded in death by his brother Kyle Knott. Kevin is survived by his wife and best friend of 25 years, Tina (Lohr) Knott; children Zachary, Jacob, Carlie, and Rachel Knott, all of Somerset; brother Keith Knott and wife Debbie of Lost Creek, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kevin was a 1980 graduate of North Schuylkill High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a retired corrections officer with the rank of Sgt. from SCI Somerset and SCI Coal Twp. He was very active in the Boy Scouts, as a leader of Friedens Troop 152, and a Unit Commissioner. He was a Brotherhood Member of the Order of the Arrow. Kevin was a member of the Somerset Lodge #358 of the F&AM; the Stoystown American Legion Post #257, the Quemahoning Rod and Gun Club, and the Laurel Ridge Sportsmen’s Club. He was an N.R.A. member and instructor, and a leader of the Steaks and Chops 4 H Club as well as a County 4 H Rifle Instructor. Friends will be received from noon until 4 P.M. Monday at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church at 1845 N. Center Ave, Somerset, with a service to follow immediately at 4 P.M., Pastor Tony Myers officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the Somerset County Honor Guard.
