Clifton Ray Gardner, 79, of Wilson passed away Wednesday. His funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Joyner's Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Black Creek Town Cemetery, Black Creek. Pastor Jonathan Ange will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2 – 2:45 p.m. at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.

Clifton is survived by his wife of twenty years, Janice Gardner of the home; daughter, Audrey Scott and husband, Keith of Kenly; step-son, Charles Curlings and wife, Tassie of Spring Hope; step-daughter, Sandra Curlings of Wilson; grandchildren, Daniel Scott and Kelly Smith; great-grandchildren, Scott, Carmen, Addison, Peyton, Mason and Skyler; sisters, Eunice Faye Harrell of Wilson and Linda Morris of Elm City and his brothers, James Gardner of Wilson and Kenneth Gardner and wife, Vickie of Rocky Mount.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Edward and Alice Mae Trevathan Gardner; sisters, Lula Leigh Summerlin, Judy Carol Gardner and Dorothy Tant and his brothers, Martin Edward Gardner and Doug Gardner.
