John L. Porter, 71, of 123 Hahn Drive, Canonsburg, died at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 12, 1972, in Prince George County Hospital, Va. He had been visiting his. son, Elmer J. Porter, in Washington, D.C.
He was born July 26, 1901, in West Alexander, a son of Walter and Margaret Porter.
Surviving are his widow, Jessie Stienstra Porter; two sons, Donald Edward of Canonsburg, and Elmer James Porter, Washington, D.C; also six grandchildren. A brother, Reed Porter, is deceased.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Speakman Funeral Home in Houston.
