Servant of God, Anfrosina Berardi, a girl from the Archdiocese of L'Aquila, was hit at the age of eleven by an attack of appendicitis, which later degenerated into an intestinal obstruction. Forced to bed, she tried to endure the pains she had, certain that the Lord had suffered far more than she.

Ever devoted to the Virgin Mary, she claimed to see her often and to have received special gifts from her, such as the announcement of the day of her death, which occurred on March 13, 1933. In 1962 her cause of beatification was introduced.
