Charles Evert Hunter, Sr., 83, of Asheboro, died Monday, October 29, 2018.

Funeral services will conducted 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Pete Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Memorial Gardens.

A native of Madison Co., NC, Mr. Hunter was born July 30, 1935, the son of the late John and Elizabeth Sprinkle Hunter.

He was retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company and attended Iron Mountain Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing but above all, he loved his God, country and family. Mr. Hunter was a US Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Roberts Hunter, and his seven siblings.

Survivors include his daughters, Norene Grove of Seagrove, Blanche Nixon (Bobby) of Asheboro, Rosie Faircloth (David) of Pleasant Garden; sons, Chuck Hunter (Patsy), John Hunter (Cindy), Scott Hunter (Trissi), Mitch Hunter (Jenny), all of Asheboro; grandchildren, Robbie Booth (Kimberly), David Faircloth, Jr. (Sara), Jacob Helms (Devon), Nathan Helms (Megan), Melissa Hill (Justin); great-grandchildren, Kasey, Natalie, Lizzie, Annabelle, Ethan, Logan, Grayson, Hunter, Jackson, Trevor, Grant, Adaleigh; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved, Rita.

Memorials may be made to Iron Mountain Baptist Church, 305 Iron Mountain Road, Asheboro, NC 27205, and other times at the home.
