Roy Abbott, Jr., 84, passed away at Hubbard Hospice House-West, Monday, October 8th.
Roy was a graduate of Walton High School and a retired employee of Columbia Gas Transmission Inc.. His greatest joys in life were his family and friends and he was so proud of his new great-granddaughter, Rylee. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, spending countless hours fishing for trout in Williams River and hunting deer, raccoons and squirrels all over West Virginia, killing his last deer during last year's season, he was a great man to ride the river with.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy W. and Retha E. Abbott.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty J. Abbott; sons, Alan and Joyce Abbott and Joel and Sherry Abbott; grandsons, Matthew Abbott and Kirsten and Adam and Vanessa Abbott; great-granddaughter, Rylee and step- granddaughter, Angela Haynes.
As per Roy's request, there will be no service or visitation.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local hospice.
