Clara Marie Hayes, 78, of Batavia, Ill., a former resident of the Polk Station community, died Jan. 14, 2010, at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, Ill.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Old Troy Cemetery. Dan Huggins will officiate. The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 1-2:35 p.m. Tuesday.
She was born Dec. 22, 1931, in Iuka, Ill., daughter of the late Forest and Dorothy (Carter) Bumgarner. She was the widow of James J. Hayes.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Libbye Hayes of Union City; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Brian Jones and Lisa and Dan DeVaney, all of Batavia, and Christi and Roger Crome of Sycamore, Ill.; five grandchildren and the spouses of two, Heather and Jon Kits, Eric Hayes, Jacob Engelbach, Chad Engelbach and Nicky and Shawna Brooks; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Betty Lou Bumgarner of Xenia, Ill.; and two sisters, Thelma Green and Betty Schuermann, both of Geneva.
She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Deborah Lee Hayes; her infant brother; her sister; and two brothers-in-law.
