Clara Marie Raymond (Ludovico), 93, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018. Clara was a native of Syracuse, New York and was employed 20 years by the Marriott in Syracuse. She relocated to Williamsburg 22 years ago with her husband Ed. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and always lit up the room with her smile and willingness to listen to others. She never met a stranger and was an eternal optimist. She fulfilled the last two years of her life at Mennowood Retirement Community where she quietly became alive with new friendship and tender care.
Clara was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Edward Raymond, son, Edward Raymond, Jr. and seven siblings.
Survived by her daughter, Michele Donnely; grandchildren, Danielle (Travis) Morse, Christopher (Christine) Szlamczynski, Jessica (Aaron) Hornstra and Peter Raymond; great-grandchildren, Alex, Aeriel and Katherine Szlamczynski and Sierra and Chase Morse and Collette; and a sister, Helen Fadaro; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 6, 2018 in Grace Episcopal Church, Yorktown. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
