Denton died Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the Community Pride Care Center in Battle Creek. Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk is in charge of the arrangements.
Denton G. Hyatt was born June 3, 1931, in Randolph, to Glenn and Verle (Heiderman) Hyatt.
He attended grade school at Randolph Public Schools and graduated from Randolph High School in 1949.
He married Genevieve Dowling on June 15, 1958, at the First United Methodist Church in Randolph.
Denton was in the United States Army from May 12, 1952, to April 13, 1954. After serving in the United States Army, Denton went on to work for the Nebraska Department of Roads. He worked there for 40 years until he retired. Denton enjoyed deer hunting and watching football, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
He is survived by his spouse of 59 years, Genevieve Hyatt; son Mark (Cheryl) Hyatt; daughter Michelle (David) Bode; sister Darlene Duffy; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two half-sisters and one half-brother.
Casket bearers will be Dustin Bode, Matthew Bode, Jayd Hyatt, Seth Hyatt, Fernando Gil and Elijah Gil.
