Kimberly Barrett, loved wife, sister, mother, and grandmother, entered heaven on September 28, 2018. Her life will be celebrated with visitation on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Knesek Family Funeral Chapel in Bellville from 5-7 pm. Service will be Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 10:00 am at Knesek Family Funeral Chapel in Bellville.
Kim was born June 1, 1955 in Lebanon, IN to William and Betty Gant Sloan. At the age of 18, Kim began working for Mayflower. At the age of 22, she moved to Houston to continue her career with Mayflower as an international freight forwarder. After a total of 25 years spent traveling all over the world for her job Kim settled in Bellville, where she spent the last 19 years owning and operating her computer company, Kim’s Mobile Computer Service. She utterly enjoyed being able to meet and serve the community while fixing their computers, and gained many friends throughout those years. Kim also served the community as a president of the Bellville Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Bluebonnet Society. From an early age, she always enjoyed horseback riding. She carried that love into her adulthood by joining the Bellville Heritage Cowgirl Drill Team for two years. She also spent time riding with her husband, daughter, and grandchildren when the opportunity arose. More than anything, Kim enjoyed traveling with her husband. They spent much of their spare time enjoying the country and visiting family along the way.
Kim is survived in life by her husband of 18 years, Michael Barrett; her children Lida Ter-Khachatryan, husband Andre, and children Lila and Susie of California; Heather Duron, husband Chris, and children Bradyn, Kylea, and Emma of Bellville; Ginger Barrett and children Kaleb, Jacob and Lexi of Bellville; Michael Barrett and children Michael and Blake of China Springs; Jennifer Barrett and children Juan and John of Waco; Sisters, Aimee Marion and husband Jerry of Michigan; Wendy Campbell and husband Bill of Ohio; as well as numerous relatives and many friends. Kim is preceded in death by her parents William and Betty Sloan and her sister Shelly Hawkins.
A reception honoring Kim’s life will follow the service at Christian Faith Church Fellowship Hall, 620 S Front St, Bellville Texas.
Memorials may be made to Brazos Valley Hospice
