A native of West Virginia, he was born January 9, 1925, son of Mrs. Ocie Howell Conner Hill of his residence and the late Thomas Edgar Conner.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post 8467 of Meadows of Dan.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jewell Cochran Conner of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Bill (Linda) Crabtree of Meadows of Dan; one brother, Mr. Ira T. Conner of Port Orange, Fla.; three sisters: Mrs. Elizabeth C. Hockett and Mrs. Arlene C. Meeks, both of Meadows of Dan, Mrs. Opal C. Webster of Roanoke.
Funeral services will be held Friday, at 2 p.m. at the Howell Funeral Home Chapel, Hwy. 58 East, Stuart, with the Rev. Norman Biggs officiating. Burial with military rites conducted by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard will be in the Mountain View United Methodist Church Cemetery, Meadows of Dan.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service at Howell Funeral Home, Stuart.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Vesta Rescue Squad, Vesta, Va. 24177 or Mountain View Methodist Church, Meadows of Dan.
