On July 15, 2016 the kingdom of heaven welcomed our beloved Mother Maria M Cordero-Martinez, she was a loving, compassionate soul with a desire for helping others. Maria M. Cordero-Martinez was born in Florida, Puerto Rico, to the late Agustin Cordero and Amalia Martinez. She attended Juan Ponce de Leon, Florida, PR. During her younger years she was a nurse who enjoyed taking care of her patients in Ruiz Soler Hospital, in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, before moving to Paterson, New Jersey in the early 1980s. She was well known for her fabulous Puerto Rican Pasteles, and her homemade cooking. Every dish she made was unique because of the most special ingredient she used, "Love".
We loved our mother with all our hearts and thank the Lord for giving us such a wonderful and deeply devoted mother and Grandmother who worked so hard to provide for her family. She fulfilled our every need and her love for us will live on in our hearts forever. We are certain that our mother Maria, left this world a blessed woman loved by her family and many dear friends. She leaves behind for us to remember her the wisdom simply found in the act of kindness and to embrace loving one another as Christ has loved us. While we mourn our wonderful mother we know the Lord always holds true to his word that all who believe in his glorious name will meet again in the kingdom of heaven.
Maria, is survived by her son Carlos L Vazquez and Taina Vazquez, six grandchildren of Paterson, NJ. Eilleen Vazquez and Nelson Cordero, both of Florida, Puerto Rico.
Memorial Service will be held on July 17th 2016 at Iglesia de Dios Pentecostal, S.E. Inc. Paterson, NJ. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 18th, 2016 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in Funeraria Alvarez de Paterson, 267 Park Avenue, Paterson, NJ and on Tuesday, July 19th 2016 From 6:00pm-11:00pm in Funeraria Emmanuel de Florida, PR. Burial Services will take place on July 20th 2016 in Cementerio Municipal de Florida, Pastoral Services by Rev. Ismael Rivera and Rev. Julio Laureano.
