Terry Wayne Allen, 36, of West Portsmouth, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018 at SOMC Hospice.
He was born September 10, 1981 in Portsmouth, a son of Terry Lee and Vicki Ann Altman Allen of West Portsmouth.
Wayne was a journalist for the Scioto Voice, a 2000 Portsmouth West High School graduate, and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Photography from Shawnee State University. He was an active member and Elder in the Community of Christ Church with his membership at the West Portsmouth Branch. He was a Board Member for Camp Bountiful where he was especially active with the youth. Wayne was also active in many community organizations and activities, especially Habitat for Humanity. He received the 2017 Roy Rogers Character Award.
He is also survived by two sisters, Jessica Allen (Shane McNutt) of West Portsmouth and Tracy (Nick) Shepherd of Otway; his nephew, Braxton, and nieces, Aby, Ali, and Kaylee.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Pleasant Valley Branch of the Community of Christ with Daron Lilly and Connie Altman officiating. Burial will follow in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call from noon to 1:45 p.m. at the church Friday before the funeral. Arrangements are under the direction of the McKinley Funeral Home.
