Oklahoma City - BONNIE VIOLET PARSONS, 71, died Saturday, July 5, 2003, while vacationing in Charleston, S.C.
Service will be at in Southpark Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.
Burial will be in Moore Cemetery, under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel in Moore.
Bonnie was born Sept. 14, 1931, in Virgil, to William Scyler and Myrtle Odessa Stogsdill Langley.
Following her graduation from Rattan High School, she met Nathan Parsons, a local radio announcer in Hugo. They were married March 7, 1952, and remained married for 49 years, until the death of Mr. Parsons on Jan. 14, 2002.
Mrs. Parsons was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She enjoyed quilting, genealogy and needlework.
Her children and grandchildren have been blessed with many of her creations. She was compassionate, kind and friendly, and was an inspiration to many. She will be greatly missed.
She was a long-standing member of Southpark Baptist Church and a faithful Christian, and drew great comfort and peace from her faith in Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Parsons of Moore, and Belinda Yeager and her husband David of Duncan; two grandchildren, Callie and Paul Yeager of Duncan; three brothers, Fred Langley and his wife Aline, Sherman Langley and his wife Loretta, and Hollis Langley and his wife Jean; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and two brothers, Chester and Ben Langley.
