Mrs. Cumbo died at the Wesley Village Nursing Center, formerly of 500 Montgomery Avenue, West Pittston. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Florence (Reilly) Barnhart and widow of Joseph G. Cumbo, who passed away on June 30, 2001.

Ruthie was a graduate of West Pittston High School, Class of 1944. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, West Pittston.

She is survived by her brothers, Harold Maxwell Barnhart and his wife, Rosemary of Sarasota, FL, and Ralph Earl Barnhart of Horntown, VA; her nephews, James "Jimmy" Millhouse and his wife, Mercedes of Ansonia, CT, John "Jack" Barnhart and his wife, Ann Marie of Winter Haven, FL, Robert "Bobby" Barnhart, CT; nieces Ruthann (Barnhart) Caiola and husband, Paul of Monroe, CT, Sharon Marie Barnhart, Sarasota, FL, Sandra (Barnhart) Crisano, Kingston, PA; several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ruthie was predeceased by five siblings, Thomas Henry Barnhart (1917), Betty Jane Barnhart (1921), Kenneth Tobias Barnhart (1931), Mary Lou (Barnhart) Mehlhouse (2001) and Jack Winfield Barnhart (2005).
