Lt. Col. (Ret) John (Jack) Callahan Badenhop died on his 93 birthday after a short illness. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 14, 1924.

After graduating high school he joined the army in 1942, and became a pilot during World War Two. After leaving the service he graduated from Seton Hall University and a graduate degree from New York University in Physical Therapy. He was recalled into the Air Force during the Korean War and served in Viet Nam. He retired from Maxwell AFB in 1974 after serving his country for 31 years. After retirement he formed the Physical Therapy department at St. Margaret's Hospital. After leaving there he practiced Home Health until he was 87 and finally retired.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marie Badenhop, son John Leslie Badenhop, daughter Robin Cowden Phillips, and grandson John Jeffrey ( Kayla) Cowden and great granddaughter Aly.

The family will be at home to receive visitors on Saturday, August 19. In lieu of flowers a memorial to The Montgomery Humane Shelter, 1150 John Overton Drive, Montgomery 36110.
