Memphis – George Amsden, 79, passed away on January 02, 2019 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital. George was a loving man with Christian morals and he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and spending time with his family. He retired from Kimberly Clark, Mfg.
Funeral services will be held at Waters Funeral Home on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Cross and Rev. Robert Fraser officiating. Burial will be in Kirkville Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jettie Mae Kilpatrick Amsden; (2) daughters, Sandra Jean Harber (Mickey) and Linda Diane Gibson (Danny); sons, Lawrence Butler Fraser (Teresa) and Billy Edward Amsden (Brenda Joyce); brother, Robert Darrell Amsden Jr. (Nancy); brother-in-law, Jack Kilpatrick (Brenda); (10) grandchildren; (18) greatgrandchildren; special friends, Phillip and Cynthia Gay.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Darrell Amsden and Janet Townsend Pinner; brother, Richard Amsden; two greatgrandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chris Amsden, Chris Gibson, Robert Fraser, Justin Fraser, Cliff Young, Mark Gross, Kenny Worthington, Joe Fradella.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mickey Harber and Danny Gibson.
