Weaver J. Ball, 83, of 80 Big Sandy Mush Road, Leicester, died Saturday, October 14, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Ball was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and was a son of the late Jess H. and Lula Jones Ball. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Ball Brooks.
He was an Army veteran, a farmer, and was retired after 20 years with American Enka. He was a member of Big Sandy United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Exum Prestwood Ball; one daughter, Joyce Ball Rogers; two sons, Wendell Weaver Ball and Carrell Daniel Ball; one sister, Virgie Ball King; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 7:00 pm Sunday at Big Sandy United Methodist Church with the Revs. Ed Worley and Bill Gillespie officiating.
Graveside rites will be at 2:00 pm Monday at the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Randy Brooks, Todd Brooks, Scott Ball, Tim King, Dean Ball, and Ronald Prestwood. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Ball, Lee Downen, and Eddie King.
