Christopher Bleakley Agnew, age 61, a resident of Chocowinity, NC, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014 at his home. Chris was born in Liberty, MO on August 24, 1953 son of the late David T. and Alice Collis Agnew. After high school graduation he served in the United States Navy for two years. Chris then attended Fort Hays State University and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business. He was a member of AA and celebrated his sobriety for 30 years. Chris attended Trinity Episcopal Church. Survivors include his siblings, David T. Agnew of Vancouver, WA, Virgil Agnew of Corvallis, OR, Josephine Agnew-Tally of Kansas City, MO, Beth Agnew of Bloomington, IN and Mary Agnew of Marietta, GA; his aunt, Nancy Collis of Washington, NC; and 5 nieces, 6 nephews, 2 great nieces, and 3 great nephews. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Trinity Episcopal Church officiated by The Rev. Sonny Browne. There will be a reception immediately following the service in the parish hall. Memorials may be made in Chris' memory to Vidant Home Health & Hospice, PO Box 8125, Greenville, NC 27835.
