Union soldier with the 1st Kentucky cavalry, Company D, captured at Rockford, Tennessee on November 14, 1863. A Prisoner of War at Andersonville Prison in Sumter, Georgia, he died of scorbutus on October 28, 1964 and was buried in the mass trenches along with 13,000+ other Union soldiers who perished under Henry Wirz guard. He is buried in Section H, Site 11583. He was 25 years old.
