My great grandmother, Johanne Marie Caroline GENZ, was born in Lehsten, Mecklenburg on February 21, 1846, to Justine Sophie Marie Dorothee ROSY and Johann Carl Friederich GENZ. She married Ludwig Friederich Wilhelm SCHWARZ in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, on November 12, 1869. My great grandparents immigrated to the US from Germany on 11 May 1873 with three of their children. The port of departure was Hamburg, Germany. The last residence is listed as Lehsten, Mecklenburg. They arrived in Baltimore, Maryland on 23 May 1893. They had nine children. She died on October 25, 1905, in Logansport, Indiana.
