On August 18, 1962, Eileen C. Lynch (Matlage) made her grand entrance into the world. Eileen was the first of five children born in Watsonville, California to Fred and Verlene Matlage. She enjoyed growing up on a farm and thoroughly enjoyed playing practical jokes on all those around.

Eileen was married to Thomas Lynch Jr. and from this union, Eileen’s biggest accomplishments were born, her daughters Amanda and Melissa. Eileen loved being a mother and a grandmother and proudly shared this as her greatest joy. Eileen had the ability to make every kid feel welcome, wanted, and loved resulting in house full of kids.

Eileen worked at Grape Tree Medical Staffing for over 15 years. She took great pride in her job and the relationships she made there. Eileen worked through numerous treatments of chemotherapy and radiation because she loved her job and knew herself the importance of quality compassionate healthcare.

Eileen was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2015. She fought one hell of a fight often defying the odds against her. She was strong, brave, and a faithful warrior. Even during the tough times, she always thought of others sharing flowers, candy, and thank- you cards with the people taking care of her. Eileen was steadfast in her faith even in the dark times brought on by cancer. Eileen’s favorite verse was “Be Still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10.

Eileen was a woman that could walk into a room full of strangers, but left with many friends. She wanted to hear your story, offer advice, and get your phone number to follow up which she faithfully did. She deeply cared for others and this resulted in making many new friends.

Eileen was a passionate advocate. She was always a women on a mission. Her last was to show her daughters how to transition from this world to the next with dignity and grace. On July 29, 2018, she completed her mission surrounded by her daughters and family friends. She will be missed immensely by all those that knew & loved her.
