"John St. Andrew left three daughters, the eldest, Mary married Gervas Pigott, Esq. of
Thumpton, she left an only daughter, also Mary, who married Robert Burdett, Esq.
afterwards Sir Robert, the third Baronet, this lady died in 1688, leaving a daughter
Elizabeth, who became the wife of Charles Jennins, Esq.; thus Gotham was carried
by the female line into the Catholic family of Jennins. This Charles Jennins died sine prole,
and left his estate to the heir of his sister Elizabeth who had married William Hanmer,
Esq. of Iscoyed, in Flintshire, and her daughter and sole heiress Hesther, married Asheton
Curzon, the second son of Nathaniel Curzon , afterwards Lord Scarsdale; this Asheton
Curzon, afterwards Baron and Viscount Curzon, by the above marriage, left a son Penn
Ashton Curzon, who married Sophia Charlotte daughter and sole heiress of Richard,
the well-known Admiral afterwards Earl Howe, of Langar, who on the death of her
father, took in her own right the Barony of Howe, by they marriage she had two sons
George Augustus William, who died in 1805, and Richard William Penn, Curzon Howe,
who was born December 11th, 1796, and is the present Earl Howe, the owner of
Gotham; who married in 1820 Harriett Georgiana the second daughter of Robert the
sixth Earl of Cardigan, and by her has a family.
