Frederick Noland Evans, 85, of Bridgewater, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018, at his home.

Mr. Evans was born Oct. 30, 1932, in Harrisonburg and was a son of the late Warren Allen Sr. and Hazel Fultz Evans.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Ruth Evans; brothers, Warren Allen Evans Jr., Thomas Kille Evans and Donald Shacklette Evans; and a sister, Lorraine E. Grant.

Fred served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Elks Lodge. He retired from the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office after 25 years of service, where he was an investigator and polygraph examiner. Family meant a lot and was very close, he always had a cat; he enjoyed feeding squirrels with his buddy “Buck” and going golfing.

He is survived by his son, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Paul Glovier officiating.
