Donald Dearl Connell, 76, lifelong resident of Wellborn, Fl., passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018 at Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City.
Born October 22, 1941, in Wellborn, Fl., to the late Gus James Connell and Emma Louise Law. Mr. Connell enjoyed fishing at Suwannee Town and gardening and babysitting his great-great nieces and nephews. He worked and retired from Occidental Petroleum Corp as a mechanic. He was a member of the Corinth Masonic Lodge #93, Lake City Shrine Club and of Fellowship Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. Mr. Connell is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers; Lamont Connell, and Gary Connell.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years; Alice Mathis Connell, of Wellborn, Fl., son; Donald "Dearl" Connell (Gaylene), of Wellborn, Fl., brother; James L. Connell, of Jacksonville, Fl., sisters; Mary Louise Ingram (David), Marilyn Joy Norris (Larry), and Jeanie Butler, all of Wellborn, Fl., sister in laws; Minnie Connell and Kay Connell, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Connell will be conducted at 11:00am, Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Fellowship Baptist Church with Bro. Dwight Law, Bro. Alex Gonzales, and Bro. Dale Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Fellowship Cemetery with Masonic Rights. Visitation with the family and friends will be held from 5:00pm-7:00pm, Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
