Jessie Earl Flewellen, 90, passed away July 20, 2018 after extended health problems.
Born Jessie Earl Flewellen, July 31, 1927 in Arkansas.
Jessie was a brother to 10 siblings, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, uncle, to; 10 siblings, 3 children, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and their children and grandchildren.
He married Ruth June Robbins in Arkansas on July 19, 1947. They came to California in 1952, settling in the Lodi area. He worked in agriculture until getting a job with the Lodi School District, where he retired as head custodian after 31 years. He enjoyed fishing, his garden, and many kids running around.
Jessie was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 5 sisters, daughter Janeice, and infant son Billy.
Jessie is survived by his wife of 71 years Ruth, sisters Loreene and Ruth, sons Glen Flewellen and Eddie Robbins, son-in-law Ralph Lee, Grandchildren, Lesley Snyder (Brian), Carrie Horner (Shelby), Sherman Lee (Carrie), Brian Gribado, Casey Robbins, and Jessie Robbins, 5 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family who most called him Papa.
A funeral service will be held on August 2, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Century Assembly of God Church in Lodi, followed by a graveside at Cherokee Memorial Park.
