Linda Lou Robertson Williams, 70, of Sapulpa, passed away peacefully in her home on February 13, 2018. She was born the sixth of seven girls on August 16, 1947 in Monahans, TX to Juanita and Julian Robertson. She attended school in Albuquerque, NM eventually pursuing a degree in math education. She met Harold Williams of Dayton, OH at University of New Mexico and they were married January 27, 1969. They moved with their new baby, Mark, to Bartlesville, OK in June of 1970 where Harold started with Cities Service Oil Co. After relocating to Tulsa in 1971 their daughter Melissa was born in December 1973. They moved to Sapulpa in March 1977 and have lived there ever since.
Linda was a member of First Baptist Church Sapulpa since 1976. During that time she taught Sunday School, worked in the nursery, and was very active in all of the youth activities for almost 40 years. She had a love of music and sang in the church choir for over a decade.
In 1980 Linda entered Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. She completed her degree in 1982 and started teaching at Sapulpa Junior High School. She taught there and at the Sapulpa High School until retiring in 2005.
Not slowing down with retirement Linda became a CASA volunteer in Feb 2008 and continued until illness forced her to stop in 2017. She enjoyed swimming and went nearly every morning to the Salvation Army pool in Sapulpa. She also tutored in the afternoons at the Boys and Girls Club.
Linda is survived by her husband, Harold Williams; her children, Mark Williams and wife Bethany, and Melissa Whittecar and husband Brian; her grandchildren Dayne and Tess Whittecar; and her sisters, Dottie Higgins, Judy Stratton, Trudy Martin, and Joan McIntosh. She is preceded in death by her parents Juanita and Julian Robertson and her sisters Irene Francis Holly and Betty Thomas.
Visitation was held from 5-7 pm on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Smith Funeral Home, 1208 S Main St, Sapulpa, OK.
