Born in Bard, California Mrs. Garst had lived in Telford since 1983. Mary worked as a security guard for 22 years at Vesuvius Security in Erwin. An avid donor to several charities including St. Judes , Mary was of the Baptist faith.
Preceded in death by her husband Clarence Garst-2006; parents Edgar and Iona Rutledge; daughter Nancy Timbs; six brothers and sisters.
Surviving include her son Clarence Garst Jr. and wife Wanda; daughters, Deborah Kestner of Limestone, Betty Lautzenheiser and husband Randy of Apache Junction, Arizona; three sisters; ten grandchildren including Joey Matthews; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday at Gray Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Chaplain Dave Huber officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at VA National Cemetery in Mountain Home with Chaplain Dave Huber officiating.
