Gary Lee Bute, 72, of Anderson, passed away on June 28, 2018 at his home. He was born on March 11, 1946 in Elwood, Indiana.
Gary graduated from Madison Heights High School. He served his country in the Army retiring in 1989 as a disabled veteran.
He was an artist, leather worker, saddle maker, body builder and loved drawing, woodworking, and working on his Harley. He was a star football player in high school.
Gary is survived by his loving spouse, Kathy (Adams) Bute; children, Brian Cotner, Michelle Ferrell, Nathan (Tonya) Elliott, Brandon (Jennifer) Bute; grandchildren, LisaBeth (Kevin) Duckworth, Mandy (James) Woodbury, Kathleen Ferrell, Tyler Elliott, Natalie Elliott, Kyra Elliott, Jack Bute; great-grandchildren, August Duckworth, Lincoln Duckworth, Aiden Robinson, Leo Woodbury, Baby Girl Duckworth on the way; brother, Ron (Karen) Etchison, Tom (Marla) Shelton, Travis (Susan) Bott, Tyler (Tillie) Bott; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Maurine (Erlandson) Bute; brother, Kent Nelson.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2018, 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St. Anderson, IN.
Services July 3, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. John Jameson officiating.
Burial will take place in the Anderson Memorial Park with military rites.
