Emily Jay was born on March 2, 1909 in Fayetteville Ark. to William Thomas and Rebecca Ader Jones Scott Mason.

She passed away in Haskell Care Center on Oct. 13, 2002, surrounded by her family. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents William and Rebecca Mason, her husband Alfred Ray Jay, 3 brothers, 4 sisters, 1 son, 1 granddaughter, 2 grandsons, 1 great grandson,1 great granddaughter 2 son in laws.
Alfred and Emily had a total of 12 children

She is survied by 4 sons and daughter in laws,
Hubert and Lena Jay of Pauls Valley, OK.
Lester and Billie Sue Jay of Haskell Ok.
Billy Jay of Coweta and
Troy and Norma Jay of Haskell,
5 daughters and sons in laws,
Lennell Masterson, of Porter,
Roxie and James Mashburn, both of Porter.
Lillian and Jerry Tarbet of Sand Springs, OK.
Joyce and Don Perryman of Brunswick, Georgia and
Betty Dowdy of Haskell,
28 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren,
and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 1:30 p.m. in the Assembly of God Church with Rev. Lloyd Carr and Rev. Donald Hogue Jr.; officiating.
Interment will follow at the Haskell Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Dry, Keith Carr, James Stewart, Joe Colbert, David Dry, and David Moore.
Services are under the direction of Dowdy Funeral Home Haskell OK.

My grandmother loved to sing she also taught Sunday School classes at her church .Her family was very important to her she loved each and everyone of them in her own special way.


I remember on Christmas Grandma would have everyone her famous homemade peanut brittle.
